It's gonna be a long month

with little miss Chloe breaking ornaments and Riley rearranging them. What really stinks is that we only have our tree up and our garland that goes on our door. I still have 5 bins full of crap that needs to be put out. I'm too tired to even care if it gets done this week.

Here are a few pics of the kids helping out.

I feel ya on the ornament deal. Michael has managed to break most of mine from last year. Soooo I bought more and he has broken like 4 now. He likes to throw things at the tree and hit it with swords!! Long month ahead!!

Oh, the joy of kids! I tell you us women have to be saints to put up with it. We got our tree last night and Trace started crying because I made him clean his room before we decorated it. That started the night into a downwad spiral from there. Yes a Long Long month ahead!

awwwwwwwwwwww... do it when your kids are in bed. they'll be thrilled to see it in the morning. :)

ps- walmart, $6, unbreakable colored ornaments... put those on the bottom and the good ones higher up away from grabby hands.

me again...

kylie is insistent on rearranging my ornaments. it's driving me crazy! she'll move one, and go, "now, it's perfect."

I don't know how I can love Christmas so much but hate it at the same time! Crazy to think that and not even have kids yet. It is so much work to put it all up I thought since it will be our last year without children ....we can take a break!

As little tykes, Stephen and Lauren loved rearranging the ornaments (they still do at ages 18and 15!)
Every year they reached higher and higher, but they also became more and more skillful. Last year, while trying to achieve perfection, I was the one who had broken 2 irreplaceable ornaments!
I agree with your friend's advise, unbreakable ornaments at the bottom, and the breakable ones at the top. That's what we did for many, many years.
Don't forget to take pictures of the tree on a daily basis. It will be fun to see how many times certain ornaments have been moved.
They grow up awfully fast, having the bottom part of your tree as the kid's tree will be a special memory when you get to be my age!

Your kids sound like Ella. The first day we put out decorations and decorated the tree Ella had many things broken. It will get better!!!
