Luke's 9th Birthday

On November 1st Luke turned 9! We had originally planned on being at Disney that day but we postponed the trip for a week. Since there wasn't school that day he and a couple friends and a cousin spent the afternoon playing sports at the park and then had a little sleepover.

I made one of Luke's favorite dinners, chicken alfredo pizza. He requested chocolate cake and ice cream as well. A few other family members came over to help celebrate as well.

The kid made out when it came time to opening his cards. I think he ended up with $90. He of course saved it for Disneyland. The boys spent most of the night watching WWE and playing video games. They went to bed near midnight and woke up far too early. haha I think they all had a good time!
At age 9, Luke is...
-Still a helpful big brother, when he chooses to be.
-Has gotten to be such a goofy, silly boy, especially around his friends.
-He is usually glued to a TV or any type of video game. (Expect to tell him something at least 3 times if he is in front of the TV.)
-He is our dog's master and buddy.
-He does very well in school... he is an exceptional reader.
-He is working towards running a marathon in December. (not all at once) He is quite a fast runner!
-He will do anything to make any kind of money.
-Is excited to have advanced to the bear den in cub scouts.
It is just so crazy to think that in just 9 more years he will be an adult. Or that in just 10 years he will be leaving for his mission! The time sure has flown by.
We sure love you our handsome boy!!

Happy Birthday to Luke! It is amazing how short our time with them at home is.
Hope you had a fun Disney trip, I'm so jealous!
