So Luke brought a note home on Monday saying that he would be getting an award on Wednesday. My mom and I went to the awards ceremony not knowing what he was receiving. It was kind of fun trying to guess. He ended up with A/B honor roll!! His teacher later informed me that he got only one B and it was in writing. No one in the whole first grade got an A in it. I guess the standard are pretty high in that area. Anyways, we sure are proud of this handsome boy!
Later in the day we had a parent teacher conference with his teacher to go over his report card. She told me that he is such a joy to have in class and is a great helper. He is very respectful and has great manners. She also told me that they just re tested him in reading and he is now at a 2nd grade level! He has improved so much in such a short time! She expects that he will be receiving many more awards this year!

Good for Luke! Keep it up. I have taught 1st grade before and the most important thing that the teacher told you is about his bahavior. What a good boy! You should be very proud of him.
